It has emerged that Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Albert Adomah could be on course for a deadline day switch to Cardiff City, according to BBC Radio Nottingham reporter Robin Chipperfield.

The reporter confirmed the update via Twitter, also claiming that the deal has not yet been wrapped up between the clubs, but it is looking "likely" to go ahead.

The 32-year-old Ghanaian international has struggled to maintain a regular place at the City Ground following his switch from Aston Villa in July of last year.

Adomah has made just five league starts for Sabri Lamouchi's side this term, with nineteen further appearances coming off the bench.

The winger has managed a total of 85 minutes of first-team football for the East Midlands side since mid-December.

With Cardiff keen to strengthen their attacking ranks ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline and the player not featuring as much as he would like this season for Forest, it seems a sensible deal for both parties.

If an agreement is reached, the Bluebirds would be getting an experienced Championship campaigner.

Adomah has made close to 400 appearances in the second tier during his career, scoring 63 goals for the likes of Aston Villa, Bristol City and Middlesbrough.

The Verdict

With Cardiff's initial interest for Adomah surfacing during the course of this week, the Welsh side have now made their move, and look keen to land the experienced attacker.

With a proven goalscoring record at Championship level, the 32-year-old could be a good signing for the Welsh side, as Neil Harris looks to improve on Cardiff's current league position.

With the departures of Omar Bogle and Gary Madine already confirmed so far this January, Cardiff are in need of attacking reinforcements.
