Cardiff City are in-talks with non-league side Wealdstone over a deal for Ciaron Brown, according to TEAMTalk.

The defender has been attracting interest from a host of clubs in the Football League, with the 20-year-old reported to have trained with a number of them as they run the rule over the young star.

Sheffield Wednesday are said to hold a firm interest in the player, but Cardiff are in pole-position to secure a deal, with manager Neil Warnock impressed by what he has seen so far.

The youngster, who can play at either full-back or centre-half, could slot straight into the Bluebirds side chasing promotion, or alternatively, could join the side’s reserve team or head out on-loan until the end of the season.

Cardiff remain locked in talks with the National League South side, and are hopeful of confirming a deal in the near future.

The Verdict

Warnock is a fan of non-league football, and is more than willing to scour the lower leagues in pursuit of his next star man.

Brown has impressed for the London-based side, and the fact that he has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs in the Championship highlights just how highly-rated the youngster is.

Remember the name, as Brown could be making his Championship debut before the end of the season.
