A range of clubs are all interested in the young Manchester United striker's services, as it has been reported that over 20 clubs have made an approach.

However, it is Bolton and Cardiff who have made late advances in the race to sign the youngster on loan.

Wilson is yet to feature for Manchester United this season as Louis van Gaal is keen to loan the youngster to another club to give him the first-team experience, needed to excel in the Premier League.

The youngster is clearly seen as a future star at Manchester United and is unlikely to leave on a permanent deal. However, a loan deal is looking more likely as the season progresses and interest for his services mounts.

Derby County were the favourites to persuade Wilson to put pen to paper as Paul Clement looks to continue his work in the transfer and loan markets to develop a promotion winning squad. However, with new interest coming in from all directions, it remains unclear as to Wilsons' likely destination.

Speaking to the Mirror, Cardiff boss Russell Slade said: “He’s obviously a player of strong ability. Manchester United think a lot of him."

Bolton manager Neil Lennon said to BBC Sport: “I think Manchester United have said there’s half a dozen clubs in for him and I could understand that. There would be an interest there, no question.”

With Cardiff and Bolton looking to bolster their squads to improve their Sky Bet Championship positions, it only adds to the saga that surrounds the young striker's season.

There's no doubt that a loan move to the Championship would benefit the youngster's career development, it's now a matter of the player and Manchester United deciding where would be best for striker.
