Cardiff City are looking to secure the services of Callum O'Dowda on a free transfer this summer, according to a report from Bristol Live.
The winger, who has been capped on 23 occasions by the Republic of Ireland at senior level, is set to leave Bristol City when his contract expires next month.
As confirmed by the Robins' official website, O'Dowda is one of five players who the Championship side have opted not to offer new deals to.
The 27-year-old experienced a frustrating 2021/22 campaign at Ashton Gate as he missed a considerable chunk of action due to a knee injury.
In the 20 appearances that he made for the Robins in the second-tier during the previous term, O'Dowda only managed to find the back of the net on one occasion.
Cardiff could potentially face a battle to win the race for O'Dowda's signature.
It is understood that six other unnamed teams are interested in making a move for the winger.
The Bluebirds will be hoping to push on under the guidance of manager Steve Morison later this year after meandering their way to an 18th place finish in the second-tier standings last season.
Ahead of what is set to be his first full season in charge of the club, Morison may decide to launch an overhaul of Cardiff's squad in the coming months.

Whereas O'Dowda's performances last season left a lot to be desired, he does possess a great deal of experience at this level and thus will be confident in his ability to get back to his best in the upcoming campaign.
During his career to date, the winger has provided 20 direct goal contributions in 160 appearances in the second-tier.
Capable of playing on either side of the pitch, O'Dowda may feel as if he has a point to prove next season following the disappointing end to his time with the Robins.
However, when you consider that O'Dowda only managed to average a WhoScored match rating of 6.47 in the second-tier during the previous term, Cardiff may find it beneficial to switch their attention to other targets as they would be taking somewhat of a risk by signing him.
