According to a report by Wales Online, Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has warned Kadeem Harris that "the grass isn't always greener" after contract talks stalled.

Neil Warnock has invested his confidence in Kadeem Harris and given the lively winger his best run in the team but his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

Warnock has been impressed with Harris' performances and is currently locked in negotiations with his father (who is also his agent).

However, the 23-year-old's wage demands are "apart" from what Cardiff are willing to offer him.

Warnock warned Harris that another club might not give him as many opportunities or have as much patience as Cardiff have because he has not yet "established" himself in the side, despite promising displays.

The Cardiff boss said:

“You've got to be a bit careful because the grass isn't always greener.

"I spoke to his father who looks after him and we were a bit apart.

“He’s not really established himself but I’d like to think he’s grown in confidence.

"The last couple of games have probably been his best.

"Will he go elsewhere and get the same opportunity?

"I don’t know?

"If people want to play for me then great.”

Cardiff are also looking at contract negotiations with Peter Whittingham and Bruno Ecuele Manga.

Warnock has admitted that wages are an issue with Manga, though, but also confirmed that he would like to keep him.

He added:

“We can’t sustain the wages Manga is on but he’s enjoying himself.

"I said to him, he’s had good money from the club for a few years.

"He’s part of my plans at the minute.”
