Cardiff City manager Neil Harris has delivered his verdict on Leeds United ahead of their clash with the Whites at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds are once again flying under the stewardship of Marcelo Bielsa and this will be the first time Harris has faced them since making the switch from Millwall, but he is remaining very respectful of the Argentinian's team.

"These are a top, top side," he told his pre-match press conference on Friday morning, reported by WalesOnline.

"This year they are there again (top), ultimately they have one of the best squads in the division.

"You also have to deal with Elland Road. As a player and a manager I love going there. I expect to see a reaction."

QUIZ: Cardiff through the decade: How much do you remember about the 2012/13 season?

Cardiff were beaten 2-1 by Brentford at Griffin Park on Wednesday night, the first defeat from Harris' spell at the club, so he will undoubtedly be hoping to bounce back as soon as possible.

However, The Bluebirds go into this one boasting the better record between the two sides having won three of their last four Championship encounters - although they are yet to clash with Bielsa's side.

The Whites sit at the top of the second-tier table with 21 matches played and show no signs of slowing down, winning their last seven games on the bounce.

The verdict

I think Harris is absolutely right to be as respectful as he is to Leeds this season.

Personally, I expected the Whites to have a tough campaign with Bielsa's methods perhaps becoming too much for the squad, but the opposite appears to have happened.

The side seem even more determined to win promotion and even more determined to learn from their experienced boss.

But it does make any potential scalp all the more sweet for those sides that can beat them and you can guarantee that Cardiff will want to join the list of clubs who have.
