Bristol City and Cardiff both remain keen on signing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, as the Gunners weigh up what's next for the youngster.

Nketiah was widely expected to move away from the club this summer as he looks to continue his development in the game, however, following an impressive pre-season for the Gunners, manager Unai Emery has been thinking twice about allowing him out.

But according to Alan Nixon, the Gunners are still to make a final decision on Nketiah ahead of the transfer window closing this week, meaning both Bristol and Cardiff are both firmly in the hunt to land the youngster should he be allowed to move on-loan.

The 20-year-old already has senior appearances under his belt for Arsenal and has represented England at under-21 level, but with the likes of Lacazette and Aubameyang ahead of him at the Emirates, first-team opportunities might be hard to come by for the youngster.

Bristol City will be keen to do with Nketiah what they did with Tammy Abraham a few seasons ago, as the Chelsea man fired in the goals to prove his worth in the second tier.

Cardiff on the other hand are looking for attacking reinforcements following the sale of Kenneth Zohore to West Brom earlier in the window, and Neil Warnock could see Nketiah as the ideal replacement to come in to the club and fire in the goals.

The Verdict

Both clubs need to be pushing Arsenal on this one in my opinion, as Nketiah looks to be quite the player already.

If he can replicate his pre-season form in the Championship then both clubs would be getting a top young striker who can fire them to within contention of promotion.

He's not going to get regular game time at Arsenal in all reality, so a move away at this point might be beneficial for all involved.
