‘Captain. Leader. Legend’ – Birmingham fans react to the club’s message to Blues legend



Birmingham City have been in inspired form of late, with three-successive wins making for an incredible start to the New Year. 

Steve Cotterill has got his Blues side playing some impressive football in recent times, as they head into the weekend’s encounter looking for a fourth-win in as many games.

Indeed, it won’t be easy though as they welcome automatic promotion contenders Derby County to St Andrew’s, in a fixture that will offer the Birmingham side one of their biggest tests yet.

Although, with on loan Southampton striker Sam Gallagher having the goalscorer’s touch for the Blues in recent games, they’ll be hoping he can produce even more magic.

Emile Heskey celebrated his 4oth birthday yesterday, a player that was instrumental at the Blues, with 14 goals in 68 appearances.

Nevertheless, the Birmingham City Twitter account (@BCFC) took to congratulating the striker on his birthday celebrations, as they took a trip down memory lane to display a goal by the 40-year-old.

Following the message, fans were quick to relive the memories of the striker’s time with the Blues, as they looked to congratulate him on another year on this earth.
