Birmingham City bowed out of the FA Cup last night, after an extra time salvo from Premier League Huddersfield Town ensured the Terriers progressed to the fifth round to take on Manchester United.

The second tier Blues took the lead early in the second half when Che Adams found the net, before being pegged back just minutes later by an own goal from defender Marc Roberts.

Extra time beckoned after 1 stalemate over 180 minutes of football, before Huddersfield showed their top flight class by scoring three goals to give a final scoreline of 4-1.

Birmingham have been resurgent in recent weeks, climbing out of the relegation spots they have occupied for much of the campaign, but their FA Cup journey proved to be a step too far for Steve Cotterill’s side.
