Championship side Huddersfield Town have confirmed attacking midfielder Brahima Diarra has signed fresh terms to extend his stay until 2024, breaking this news yesterday evening.

The Paris-born 18-year-old, who first arrived at the John Smith's Stadium in 2019, rose up quickly through the ranks in West Yorkshire and is now an integral part of the club's B team, knocking on the door for a spot in the first team.

He has already made his senior debut for the Terriers, coming on as a second-half substitute at the Vitality Stadium in last year's league tie at AFC Bournemouth in December, before making another appearance less than a month later as he appeared in their FA Cup third-round fixture against Plymouth Argyle.

And he may have received further first-team opportunities in the same competition if they weren't knocked out by the Pilgrims, perhaps one regret that Diarra has from last term after making an impressive breakthrough.

Huddersfield fans will be hoping he can be one for the future, especially with more bodies needed in the middle of the park after Juninho Bacuna's summer departure and Lewis O'Brien's strong links with a move to Leeds United and Crystal Palace in the summer.

But patience could be key in tempering the 18-year-old's expectations and he may only be a regular player under Carlos Corberan this season with an injury crisis in midfield.

Still, this latest news will be welcomed by many Huddersfield Town supporters with the teenager regularly training with the senior squad. But are they all happy?

We have taken a look at how a selection of Terriers fans have reacted on Twitter.
