Brentford midfielder Sergi Canos underwent knee surgery yesterday, and plenty of his teammates and fans were quick to wish the Spaniard a speedy recovery.

The 22-year-old Sergi Canos had featured in all of Brentford’s Championship games leading up to his side’s 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest at the start of the month, where he’d picked up a serious knee injury.

Yesterday, Canos underwent surgery and shared this message to his Instagram afterwards:

Teammates Pontus Jansson and Ollie Watkins shared their thoughts on Canos’ post, whilst plenty of Brentford fans were also keen to wish the midfielder well.

He’s played almost 150 times for the club since joining on the January deadline day in 2017, scoring 23 goals in the process.

A former academy player with the likes of Barcelona and Liverpool, Canos made one appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side before signing for Norwich in 2016.

He made just three appearances in the league for Norwich before returning to Brentford, where he had a successful season on-loan in 2015/16.

Canos is a fan favourite at Griffin Park, and his manager Thomas Frank will be eagerly awaiting his return to first-team action.
