Millwall had a storming start to the 2012/13 Championship campaign but the turn of the year saw a shift in their fortunes.

After Chris Wood’s loan came to an end with the prolific striker moving to Leicester City on a permanent deal from West Brom, the Lions’ form went south, and quickly.

But Kenny Jackett and his men found solace in the FA Cup.

Despite a poor run of form in the league, the world’s oldest cup competition gave the Lions something to concentrate on and forget their second-tier woes.

After a third-round win over Preston North End and their fourth-round win over Premier League Aston Villa, the Lions were on a six-game winless run – which included five straight defeats.

In the middle of that run, too came the fifth-round tie at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town.

A 3-0 win to Jackett’s side into the quarter-finals where they would go up against Blackburn.

Both sides hit the woodwork in the initial tie at The Den, which ended in goalless ahead of a replay at Ewood Park three days later.

Just before half-time in the return fixture, Danny Shittu powerfully headed home from a Millwall corner to send the travelling support into delirium.

That single goal would be enough to send the Lions into their first semi-final since reaching the final back in 2004.

A trip to Wembley beckoned for the Championship strugglers who would eventually survive on the last day of the season – but first would fight for a place in the FA Cup final against Wigan Athletic.

The reaction from the fans was as expected following the result.

This is FLW Rewind, and we take a look at a moment in time, and here is the reaction from the Millwall supporters after their win over Blackburn to book a place in the last four of the FA Cup.
