Steve Bruce faces a tough job when he finally takes control of Sheffield Wednesday at the start of February.
His assistant Steve Agnew has done a decent job in steadying the ship that Jos Luhukay left rocking uncontrollably before he was sacked, but there is certainly still work to be done.
A 3-0 loss to the Championship’s in-form side Hull City last weekend showed how far they still have to go before they are back to the standards of 3 years ago.
With the January transfer window still open, Bruce will undoubtedly be looking to bring in reinforcements all over the pitch, but for a moment today business was put to the side.
Fernando Forestieri has long been one of the Owls best players, scoring 35 goals in just over 100 appearances, and although he has only mustered three this season, he is still very popular with the fans.
