Middlesbrough have completed the signing of striker Folarin Balogun on loan from Arsenal, the Championship club have confirmed.

A graduate of the Gunners' academy, Balogun has a prolific record at youth level for Arsenal, something that has seen him start to make the step up to senior level.

The 20-year-old has already made ten first-teamappearances for the North London club, scoring two goals, in Europa League wins over Dundalk and Molde last season.

Now however, the striker looks set to get even more first-team experience over the course of the rest of this campaign, after it was confirmed that he has joined Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season.

Middlesbrough currently sit seventh in the Championship table, one point adrift of the play-off places, and nine behind the automatic promotion spots.

Balogun has become 'Boro's third new recruit of the January window, following a loan deal for Brighton striker Aaron Connolly, and the permanent signing of Caolan Boyd-Munce from Birmingham.
