It was announced on Friday morning that Hull City had appointed their new manager ahead of the 2017/18 Championship season, with many supporters unsure on the news coming out of the club.

Fans remained optimistic for next year following Marco Silva's resignation as they endured an instant return to the second-tier and the new man in charge, Leonid Slutsky, has the difficult task of mounting a promotion push.

The 46-year-old has spent all of his managerial career in Russia, most recently leading the country's national team to the European Championships last summer in France, before leaving his role after the 3-0 defeat to Wales.

Whilst the reaction is mixed from Hull City's fan base, this appointment was expected for quite some time as the Tigers had prepared a deal for the former goalkeeper a number of days ago - Slutsky had to retire from his playing days after attempting to save a neighbour's cat.
