Leeds United are back up to 2nd in the Championship table after two wins in a week.

The Whites ran out 2-0 winners over Bristol City on Saturday afternoon, then extended their winning run easing past Reading on Tuesday night by 1 goal to nil.

Marcelo Bielsa's men, after dropping out of the automatic promotion places, have now reclaimed their spot in the top two, and will now look to build pressure on table-toppers Norwich City who sit just one point above Leeds.

Injuries to several key players have had an impact on Leeds' stuttering form this term - the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe, Gaetano Berardi and Patrick Bamford all picked up injuries, during a run of which they won just two out of seven league games, dropping to 4th in the Championship.

It's clear that Leeds need strengthening in January - they are in desperate need of a back-up goalkeeper with Jamal Blackman returning to Chelsea after breaking his leg, and they could also do with another striker to rival Kemar Roofe.

A winger is also on the agenda for Marcelo Bielsa, having already been linked with Ibai Gomez and Kadeem Harris over the last month, so why not sign a player who can play both out wide or up top?

With that being said, Leeds United should definitely be looking to sign Portsmouth's Ronan Curtis in January - the attacker was linked with a move to Elland Road at the end of October, and the Whites should undoubtedly reignite interest.

Curtis has been on fire for League One table-toppers Pompey this season - his goal in a 2-0 win against Walsall was his 7th of the campaign, as well as registering 6 assists this term too.

The Republic of Ireland international has been sensational for Kenny Jackett's men ever since his arrival from Derry City in the summer, and his ability to play either out wide as an inside forward, behind the striker or up front, makes him a very useful asset to Marcelo Bielsa.

It may cost a lot to tempt him away from Fratton Park, but he should definitely be on Leeds' radar in January without a shadow of a doubt.
