‘Can’t see us winning a game’ – Many West Brom fans react to latest Matheus Pereira news

West Bromwich Albion attacker Matheus Pereira has been charged with violent conduct for an incident during the 1-0 defeat to Stoke City.

The Brazilian midfielder has arguably been the Baggies best performer this season since his arrival on loan from Sporting Lisbon, but he could now be set to miss three games through suspension.

Battling for the ball with Stoke midfielder Joe Allen during the game, Pereira is alleged to have elbowed the Welsh international, an act which has been caught on camera.

The attacking midfielder, has until 18:00 GMT on 22 January to respond and could miss the upcoming games against West Ham United (FA Cup), Cardiff City and Luton Town.

Monday night’s Championship fixture at the Hawthorns saw league leaders West Brom host Michael O’Neill’s inconsistent Stoke.

Tyrese Campbell scored the only goal of the game for Stoke in the ninth minute to seal a shock win for the visitors.

The defeat means that West Brom have not won since the middle of December in the league, and Grady Diangana’s absence through injury suffered against Stoke, could now be followed by a potential suspension for Pereira.
