Ipswich Town's fixtures for their League One campaign have been released, their first season outside of the top two divisions since 1957.

Having suffered relegation last season, the Tractor Boys will face the likes of Accrington Stanley, Lincoln City and Gillingham in league competition, as opposed to Leeds, Norwich and Sheffield United.

It's unknown territory for their fans and, as the pain of relegation subsides, they can look forward to an exciting season in which they should be competing at the top of the division.

Their opening fixture does take them to familiar territory, they visit Burton Albion who were themselves a Championship the year before last. The first opponents at Portman Road won't be strangers either; they're hosting Sunderland in a huge early-season clash.

They face a trip to Lincoln City on December 29th, the scene of a giant-killing act just three years ago. The Imps beat them 1-0 whilst a National League side, but this season they'll be competing on an even level. The return fixture is less than a month later,

These Ipswich supporters don't seem too downbeat about the unfamiliar names on their fixture list, with confidence growing that they might be bouncing back at the first opportunity, as you'll see below.
