Will Grigg has had a tough time since his move to Sunderland - and it got even worse against Milton Keynes Dons.

Midway through the second half, a golden opportunity arose when Lynden Gooch found himself free down the right hand side, and managed to square the ball across goal.

All Grigg had to do was tap the ball into an empty goal, but the striker amazingly let the ball go under his foot - it has to be seen to be believed as this clip shows.

Sunderland spent a considerable amount to bring Grigg to the Stadium of Light, and it just hasn't worked out at all.

Grigg netted four times in 18 appearances in his first half-season at the club, then managed just one goal in 20 games last season.

It's a far cry from his days at MK Dons and Wigan in League One, where he was a 20-goal a season man and was full of confidence.

The Northern Ireland international made just his second league start of the season today, partnering Charlie Wyke up-front, but if many Sunderland fans had their way, it would be his last.
