Brentford came out on the wrong side of a 4-3 thriller at Griffin Park on Saturday afternoon, as Dean Smith's side lost out to Nottingham Forest, ending the day in the bottom three, as their search for their first point of the season continues.

The Bees took the lead on 38 minutes, through John Egan, but were behind by half time, with goals from debutante Andreas Bouchalakis and summer signing Darryl Murphy ensuring Forest went in for the interval with their noses in front.

Andreas Bjelland and Neil Maupay netted second half goals but another strike from Bouchalakis, and a first goal for the club from another new recruit, Kieran Dowell, made sure that Forest never lost the lead and ended up with six points from their first two matches.

Brentford fans reacted to defeat at the hands of their former manager Mark Warburton by blaming their defence for conceding four, but also their frontline for failing to take more than three chances, which would have seen the Bees come out on top.
