Swansea City have confirmed that winger Wayne Routledge will be leaving the club after eight years when his contract expires in the summer.

They revealed that he was one of five senior players who wouldn't be getting a new deal as they continue to reshape their squad following relegation from the Premier League 12 months ago.

It spells the end of a very successful time for Routledge in Wales, where he arrived in 2011.

The former Crystal Palace man initially helped the club establish themselves in the top-flight and the undoubted high point came when they lifted the League Cup in 2012 and played in Europe in the following year.

So, the 34-year-old will always be remembered fondly by Swans fans and it's fair to say they weren't at all happy with the decision to release the player, who had score three in his last eight games.

Here's some of the reaction to the news that Routledge will be leaving after over 250 appearances for the club...
