Plenty of Stoke City fans have taken to Facebook to discuss whether the duo of Rory Delap and Liam Lawrence would be a good choice to replace Nathan Jones as manager of the club.

Stoke are currently searching for a new permanent manager after deciding to part company with Jones last week, following a poor start to the season in the Championship.

Jones was sacked on Friday after just nine months in charge at the Bet365 Stadium, following a terrible start to the season which has seen the team pick up just two wins from their opening 14 league matches.

The club are currently in the process of searching for a new manager and Preston North End boss Alex Neil has been strongly linked with the role, although the club have since ended their interest in him.

Plenty of Stoke fans have taken to social media to give their thoughts on the club's situation and discuss who would be a good appointment for the club.

One supporter asked other fans of the club on Facebook whether they would welcome the appointment of former players Rory Delap - who is part of the current management team at the club - and Liam Lawrence.

Plenty of Stoke supporters were quick to respond to the question, here is a look at some of the best responses from Stoke fans on Facebook...

Dave Jervis Rory was great as a player but he has been involved with two management structures that have orchestrated our decline, so not too sure that he could reverse the slump, Lawrence may get his chance when he completes his coaching.

Steven Challinor That's exactly what I've said we should do. Can't be any worse than jones

Kevin Bowman Nope. Need an experienced manager with a set of balls to knock these prima donnas into shape

Alan Brenton If they're winning, happy, if they're not, sad! My suspicion is that the squad we have needs either someone who frightens them or someone who inspires them. That would almost certainly be someone with experience.

Giulio Presti Not looking good. The board is so embarrassing. They haven't learnt from sacking managers before.

Clubs usually have someone lined up. They should have kept NJ.

Alan Davies Probably best to see how things go on Monday and see where we go from there. A positive result wouldn’t do any harm......

Michael J Cunneen What's needed is a person with a proven track record To get Stoke off the bottom of this league And stay in this division .

Andrew Newman Delap is a legend for the club. But he was part of Rowett's managerial setup and part of Jones's. Maybe he is not the answer to our problems...
