New Derby manager Frank Lampard has plenty to keep him awake at night as he attempts to get Derby's faltering start to the Championship season back on track.

Defensive frailties have seen the Rams concede seven goals in their opening three matches, with that in mind should Lampard look to drop veteran defender Richard Keogh?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Cancel his contract.

He might be a stalwart at Derby but he is one of the worst ball-playing defenders to ever grace the game.

An all-action defender who can tackle and head the ball away at will is a typical old-school centre-half.

Football has passed him by, however, and expecting him to be able to cope with the ball at his feet with time is dangerous.

He has been a calamity at the back this season and it is time to drop him in favour of absolutely anyone else.

Gary Hutchinson

Keogh is getting a bit too leggy for a top of the table Championship side.

Whether he should be dropped depends on who they can bring in.

At present their recruitment hasn’t been focused on defensive players and that is what they need, badly.

Lampard will have to be active in the next week to get the right bodies in.

Jay Williams

The problem with this is that there are not many alternatives with Curtis Davies out injured.

One option would be to play Alex Pearce but he didn't even make the bench at the weekend.

Another option would be to play young George Evans there, even though he is more naturally suited to a defensive midfield role.

What I would do is drop Keogh and move right-back Andre Wisdom into the central defensive slot, with Jayden Bogle retaining the right-back position.

George Dagless

He should.

Keogh keeps making mistakes at the moment and needs to come out of the side.

He's got experience but it could be time for someone else to come in.
