A warrant has been issued for his arrest after an incident in July during the Pan Am Games where a 21-year-old woman claimed she was sexually assaulted.

The Brazilian forward Piazon, 21, along with fellow compatriot Andrey Da Silva Ventura 22, are alleged to have met two women in a nightclub and accompanied pair back to the complainant’s home.

It is then the pair are said to have entered the woman’s bedroom as she slept and assaulted her.

Although an arrest warrant has been issued, Piazon cannot be extradited but will be arrested if he enters the province of Ontario while the Canadian police are beginning a process of bringing Ventura back to Toronto to face the charge although Canada does not have an extradition treaty with Brazil.

Inspector Joanna Beaven-Desjardins of the Toronto sex crimes unit said during a press conference: “You could say it’s frustrating. It would be good for the victim and themselves to cooperate.”

Piazon, who has been at Chelsea since 2012 and made three appearances for the Blues, joined Reading on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day and has scored twice in eight outings for the Royals.

Reading’s five-match unbeaten run came to an end last week as they were beaten 4-2 last weekend at Fulham and face a tough test this Saturday as they face league leaders Brighton & Hove Albion at the Madejski Stadium.
