David Prutton is expecting Sheffield United to return to winning ways at Bramall Lane this weekend, piling the pressure on Hull City and Leonid Slutsky in the Sky Bet Championship, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted Chris Wilder’s side to bounce back form a midweek defeat against Hull, with the Blades picking up a 2-1 victory on their return to South Yorkshire after back-to-back away days.

Last Friday the Blades were celebrating a 2-1 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road, which lifted Wilder’s side to the top of the Championship table. However, the Blades could not maintain their place at the summit of the division on Tuesday evening, with Jamal Blackman making a costly mistake as Wilder watched his side slump to a 1-0 defeat at Loftus Road against Queens Park Rangers.

Whilst Sheffield United are worrying about their position in the race for promotion, Hull head to Bramall Lane in a worrying position, with the Tigers currently sitting 18th, just six points outside the relegation zone.

Slutsky’s side have suffered back-to-back defeats in the last week, losing to Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough.

The Verdict

Wilder was furious with Sheffield United’s midweek performance, and the likelihood is we will see a major reaction on Saturday at Bramall Lane.

Hull are extremely inconsistent, and an early goal for the Blades could really settle this contest.

Like Prutton, it is hard to see past the Blades bouncing back.

If Wilder’s side are serious about a push for promotion, fixtures against the likes of Hull will be vital.
