Millwall are enjoying a highly successful third campaign in the Championship, which could still end in promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.

The Lions head to Nottingham Forest on Friday just five points adrift of the top-six and can cut that gap to only two if they can record their fifth away league victory of the campaign first at the City Ground for more than four years.

But whilst Millwall fans will be heading up the M1 in buoyant mood after some excellent away results this term - they were far from happy when news broke this morning that midfielder Jayson Molumby is unlikely to be returning to The Den next season.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder is currently enjoying a successful season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion, but signed a new three-year contract until June 2023 earlier today, ending the possibility of him joining the Lions on a permanent basis next summer.

Brighton announced the news officially on their Twitter account at just after 9am this morning.

The majority of the replies were from upset Millwall fans, begging the Premier League outfit to send Molumby back to London next season.
