David Prutton is expecting Wolverhampton Wanderers to maintain their lead at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table this weekend, piling more misery on Sunderland, reports Sky Sports.
Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted Nuno Espirito Santo’s to pick up a comfortable three points against Sunderland, with Wolves recording a 3-0 victory over the Championship’s strugglers.
Wolves are going from strength-to-strength in the Championship, with Nuno’s side currently holding a four-point lead over Cardiff City heading into the weekend’s fixtures.
Nuno’s side have picked up six consecutive victories in the Championship, scoring an impressive 16 goals and conceding on just two occasions.
Sunderland’s current form is a stark contrast to Wolves’ form, with the recently appointed Chris Coleman, beginning to see the size of the job at hand as the Stadium of Light.
Coleman has overseen three fixtures so far, which have resulted in one victory and two defeats, leaving the Black Cats struggling in the Championship’s relegation zone.
Sunderland head to Molineux tomorrow on the back of a disappointing defeat to Reading, where Coleman’s side were picked apart and handed a 3-1 defeat.
Wolves’ supporters will be heading to Molineux thinking they already have three points in the bag, which is a dangerous attitude to have in the Championship.
Sunderland are struggling and this weekend is the toughest test they will face this season, with Wolves clearly the Championship’s standout side.
However, Nuno will be drilling it into his side that they cannot take Sunderland lightly, and you cannot see past a home victory.
