David Prutton is expecting Wolverhampton Wanderers to maintain their position at the top of the Sky Bet Championship table and end Leeds United’s mini revival on Wednesday, when the pair meet at Molineux, reports Sky Sports.

Writing in his prediction column for Sky, Prutton has predicted a 2-1 victory for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, with the EFL pundit highlighting the importance of the game’s opening goal.

Wolves have looked formidable under Nuno this season, and maintained their place at the top of the Championship table over the weekend after a victory over Reading.

Goals from Ivan Cavaleiro and Matt Doherty led Wolves to three points at the Madejski Stadium, and they will return to Molineux on Wednesday night looking to cement their place at the top of the table.

Leeds will head to the Midlands in a positive mood having ended a miserable run of results against Middlesbrough on Sunday lunchtime.

Goals from Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski helped Leeds to a 2-1 victory, and Thomas Christiansen’s side now have a chance to move back into the top-six if they can upset the league leaders on Wednesday evening.

The Verdict

This is a big test for Leeds and Christiansen, but Wolves will also be wary of which Leeds side shows up on Wednesday, as on their day, the Whites can beat anyone.

However, it is hard to look past a Wolves victory, as Nuno’s side have been excellent this season and even when they have played poorly, they’ve managed to pick up some impressive victories.

A comfortable home victory.
