Norwich have undoubtedly had one of the most surprising Championship promotions winning seasons in recent history. They cut-back on everything except, it would seem, their belief.

Their unlikely rise to the Premier League may come at a cost though. Teams who brace and conquer the Championship do not always possess the firepower and quality to maintain their top-flight status.

There is a tough decision to be made by Daniel Farke on which players who have performed so well in the Championship will stay and play in the Premier League.

Disposing of all loyalty to the players that got you there and focusing on staying up is hard. And there is one player in particular that must be accounted for.

Teemu Pukki has had a tremendous season and has revitalised his striking career at Norwich this season. In fact, the forward looks very likely to pick up the golden boot for the season and has scored 28 goals with just one game left to play.

Yes, he is extremely clever with his movement and certainly intelligent which van take you a long way in the Premier League, but there are certainly some question marks left unanswered about his ability to score goals in Europe’s top five divisions.

Pukki has played in La Liga with Sevilla but was young and completely out of favour making just one appearance. He later spent two years with Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga and made 37 appearances scoring just eight goals. His lack of goal scoring and experience at the top level is worrying.

The last top goal scorer of the Championship to make the step-up to the Premier League Matej Vydra who is struggling to get a game never mind score at Burnley.

Vydra is the perfect example along with the likes of Dwight Gayle, Tammy Abraham, Patrick Bamford and even Jay Rodriguez that a wonderful Championship goal scorer might not even make a decent Premier League one.

But who knows? You might just have a Diogo Jota on your hands who, it would seem, can perform exceptionally at both levels. Norwich will certainly have to make a stick or twist type of decision come the start of the new season.
