Crystal Palace are considering a summer transfer swoop for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Massimo Luongo, according to the print edition of the Daily Mirror via the Sky Sports News Paper Talk page.

Would this be a good signing for Palace? Should QPR let him go?

We discuss....

Ben Barkworth

Central midfield is a relatively strong area for Palace due to having Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic, so Luongo's only likely to be used as squad depth.

Therefore, it wouldn't be a good move for him personally.

Jay Williams

Luongo would be a solid but unspectacular signing for Palace.

He would add an extra option for Roy Hodgson to think about in midfield but he is unlikely to fire them into the top half with dominant displays.

But this could be a great career move for the Australian international, who could be seeking a Premier League move to progress his career.

Gary Hutchinson

Another great move for the boy, as a London-based player Palace might be his preferred destination.

He could do well to hang fire until after the World Cup though, because a good outing there might add a zero onto his salary.

Chris Gallagher

I'm not sure he's an upgrade on what they have.

They probably need more depth to their squad so it's an understandable signing from that point of view.

Whether the Australian international would make a big impact in their team on a regular basis is open for debate though.

George Dagless

Can he really make the step up?

I expect Palace to stay up this season and they now need to look for players to help them kick on.

Luongo will be looking to prove he can help them do that if he does move this summer and I think he'd be able to.
