Aston Villa have completed a deal for Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham, with the youngster joining on a season-long loan.

The striker has agreed to link up with Steve Bruce's side despite having played Premier League football for Swansea last season. He drops back to the same level in which he scored 23 times in 41 outings for Bristol City.

The 20-year old has been on the fringes of the England set-up and his arrival at Villa Park will be seen as something of a coup.

However, some Villa fans have expressed surprise the club didn't bring in a central defender, one area of the field in which they truly needed reinforcements.

With Tommy Elphick joining Hull City, the Villans look very light at the back, but dangerously overloaded going forward.

There's little doubt that alongside Anwar El Ghazi, Yannick Bolasie and of course forward's Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan, Villa will pose a real threat. At the back, there's still questions.
