After suffering their first defeat of the season against Millwall on Saturday, Leeds United are handed the perfect opportunity to put things right this week in the Carabao Cup.

Having breezed past Port Vale and Newport County during the early stage of the competition, Leeds have now been handed an opportunity to test themselves against Premier League opposition, when they travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley.

Tuesday night could see Charlie Taylor and Chris Wood come up against Leeds, just months after the duo turned their back on the Sky Bet Championship outfit for a shot at Premier League football.

Despite finding themselves up against Premier League opposition, Leeds’ starting XI could have a very different look to the one that played against Millwall, with Christiansen opting to field a number of his fringe players against Port Vale and Newport in the two previous rounds.

Leeds defeated their lower league opposition 4-1 and 5-1 respectively, whilst Burnley were triumphant over League One outfit, Blackburn Rovers, as they entered the competition in the second-round.

Christiansen’s side will be looking to make a major statement following their defeat to Millwall, but are facing a potential defensive crisis, with Pontus Jansson picking up an injury over the weekend, whilst Liam Cooper and Matthew Pennington are not expected to be available until next Saturday.

Here at FLW, we are expecting a reaction from Leeds against Burnley, with Christiansen’s side sure to be fired up against Premier League opposition.

However, the Premier League side should have too much for Christiansen’s side, with Burnley edging a tight contest.

Score Prediction: Burnley 2 – 1 Leeds United
