When Burnley were relegated after just one season back in the top flight of English football, they went about building a squad capable of bouncing straight back.
Some criticised manager Sean Dyche for not adding enough quality in the summer they were promoted, but the same cannot be said this time around as Burnley have gone about adding proven players to their ranks.
They managed to keep the majority of their key players from the last two seasons such Tom Heaton, Michael Keane and George Boyd while the only significant losses were Danny Ings, who moved to Liverpool, and Kieran Trippier, who signed for Tottenham.
While keeping these players was important, Dyche has also identified areas in the team that needed addressing and has searched the market for proven quality rather than young players with potential.
In came Andre Gray to replace the departed Ings and he has hit the ground running, scoring twice in his five appearances for the club so far this campaign. While the club also signed free agent Joey Barton, whose experience and leadership on the field could be crucial for any potential promotion push.
The additions of Matt Lowton and Tendayi Darikwa have gone under the radar slightly but their contributions could also be vital.
Dyche has also instilled a great work ethic in his players and that has certainly helped them when they were promoted and during a tough season in the Premier League.
