Cambridge United midfielder Ryan Donaldson says he had no doubt in where he was going to be this season after ending speculation on his future last week.
The Cambridge News reports, the former Newcastle United man insisted he knew that he wanted and would be for the upcoming campaign after signing a new contract to stay until 2016, with the newly promoted Football League side.
The 23 year old scored a stunning free-kick in the Play-Off Final victory over Gateshead in May to secure promotion back to the fourth tier in nine years.
Donaldson who didn’t hesitate in signing a new deal said ”Jez George (Director of Football) spoke to me during the break and just asked if I’d be happy to stay. Of course I was delighted when he asked and I just wanted to get it sorted out as soon as possible.”
”The club treated me really well when I came down here and I’ve really enjoyed it, especially with the success we’ve had. But there’s a good atmosphere around the whole club and it’s a good place to be at the minute.” added Donaldson.
