Sky Bet League Two side Cambridge United have confirmed on their official website the signing of striker Joe Pigott following his release from Charlton Athletic.
The 22-year-old only made 16 appearances in the four years he spent at the Valley, netting just one goal in the process.
He has however spent much of his Charlton career on loan at various clubs, including Gillingham, Newport County and Bromley.
Last season, Pigott spent time on loan in both Leagues One and Two. He played 28 games in a loan spell with Southend United in League One, netting five times, while he also played 15 games during a spell with Luton Town in League Two, scoring four times.
Pigott also enjoyed a loan spell with Southend during the 2014/15 season, where he actually scored in their play-off final victory over Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley.
The frontman has signed for Cambridge on a one year deal and will be hoping to prove his worth to manager Shaun Derry.
