Bristol City midfielder Callum O'Dowda has said the side's recent slump has been 'disappointing' for all concerned, as the Robins gear up for their upcoming clash against Fulham this Saturday afternoon.

Lee Johnson's side have lost three of their last four league games, and played out a 1-1 draw against Millwall last time out to temporarily halt the slump.

The poor recent sequence of results for the Robins has dropped them outside the play-off places. This weekend represents a good opportunity to bounce back, as the club celebrates its 125th anniversary.

As part of the occasion, Bristol City will be donning a commemorative shirt that gives a nod to years gone by.

Ahead of the big game, the 24-year-old has spoken out about the side's recent sequence of results, stating that the team have been below par.

"It was obviously disappointing in the last few games. The standard we set ourselves, it was disappointing," O'Dowda told the Bristol Post.

"Football to us is as important to the fans, and it kills us. We all want the same thing."

Out of their last four games, the defeat to Huddersfield proved to be the most disappointing, and the midfielder believes that the side showed some heart against Millwall last weekend.

"Going into the Millwall game it was a different mindset. It was definitely a lot better," O'Dowda said.

The Fulham game this weekend represents a tough challenge for the club, but Bristol City will be buoyed knowing that they have lost to the Cottagers once in the last seven meetings between the sides.

The Verdict

From O'Dowda's words, it is clear to see that the squad and the staff have been hurting from the recent sequence of results, and are keen to put things right.

The side are only outside of the play-offs by two points, therefore there is still a lot to be played for.

The pressure is also mounting on Lee Johnson, and a win on the weekend will be a relief for all concerned.
