Swansea City are still to appoint a permanent manager, however it appears Steve Cooper is on course to land the top job at the Liberty Stadium.

The new Swans manager will have a lot of issues to resolve and fix once he enters the hot-seat, and there will be an array of players that are likely to be offloaded to make room for new recruits.

One such player is Borja Baston, who it's fair to say hasn't had the greatest of spells in south Wales, and he is now being linked with a switch away to Real Zaragoza.

The forward signed for the Welsh club in a record £15.5million deal in 2016 has spent the past two seasons on loan in Spain.

Baston scored just once in his time at the Swans.

So, how can Baston's time at Swansea be best summed up?

We discuss........

Kealan Hughes

"Calamitous.

"He signed three years ago for a huge sum for a club like Swansea. He offered so much but delivered so little.

"He has only made 18 appearances for the club - that's nearly £1m per appearance, which is just unacceptable. The club won't even be able to recoup a fee for him, and most Swansea fans will be glad to see the back of him.'

Toby Wilding

"Disappointing.

"When you sign a player for a club record fee, you're going to expect more than 20 appearances, one goal and two loan spells in three seasons, but that is all they have got out of Baston.

"It simply hasn't worked out for the Spaniard at Swansea, and you wouldn't blame the club for looking to cut their losses on the midfielder in the summer."

Louie Chandler

"Underwhelming.

"He arrived in England with an exciting reputation and was expected to be the player who helped establish the Swans in the top flight.

"But that has not happened at all and the sooner they get rid the better."
