With just nine games left of the season, Neil Warnock will be aiming to push his players to finish the season on a high.

The Bluebirds sit in 13th place in the league and are likely to finish in a mid-table position as there is a too much of a gap for them to push for a top six place.

Following his commitment to the club for the 2017/2018 campaign, Warnock’s focus will be on the summer where he will certainly be aiming to bolster his side.

Warnock has always been known to be a hard man to please and will certainly be expecting his squad to be amongst the promotion chasers next season.

The boss came out to the press this week stating that he was unhappy with certain players in the squad including Declan John and Craig Noone in their recent draw to Blackburn Rovers.

From now until the end of April, every member of the squad should be fighting to prove to Warnock that they are worthy of a blue shirt for next season.

FLW writer, Ashley Williams identifies TWO players who are likely to see the Cardiff City exit doors this summer..

Declan John

The 21-year-old full-back has been at the club since an early age, but surely he has had enough opportunities to prove he can be part of the first-team.

John was once touted to be one of Cardiff’s next brightest stars to come out of the academy, but he seems to struggle at Championship level.

It remains a dilemma whether Warnock will get rid of the Welsh left-back completely or let him go out on loan, but Warnock will want someone who is capable of stepping in, if Joe Bennett becomes unavailable or picks up a knock.

Frederic Gounongbe

Since the Benin international arrived from Belgian KVC Westerlo last summer, he has failed to score a single goal in his 12 appearances for the club.

The striker arrived in South Wales with high expectations after netting 22 goals in the Jupiler Pro League last season.

Everytime Gounongbe appears for the Bluebirds, he doesn’t look comfortable and the Championship certainly seems too hot to handle for him.

Warnock will want to add firepower up front in the summer to support Kenneth Zohore and it seems Gounongbe’s goal drought will pave the way for his exit.
