After a vital victory over Wigan Athletic, Bristol City remain in the relegation drop zone, however, just a point and a place behind Blackburn Rovers.

Lee Johnson will be hoping that the crucial victory in a relegation six-pointer can restart Bristol City's season and help the club build some momentum.

If Bristol City do stave off relegation, Lee Johnson may feel that the club needs a clear out in the summer so he can help reinvigorate the club after such a disappointing season.

One way of doing so is to clear out players who have either drifted to the peripheries of the club or who have been sent out on loan in search of first-team football.

As the summer transfer window approaches, some of these players who have found themselves in a difficult position at Bristol City may assess if they have a future at the club, if not, they could quit the club in the summer.

FLW writer Elliott Wheat-Bowen looks at the TWO most likely players to quit Bristol City this summer.....

Gustav Engvall

After making the big money move from IFK Gothenburg to Bristol City in the summer, Swedish Under 21 striker Gustav Engvall has flattered to deceive.

The 20-year-old striker may have expected to play a large role for Bristol City, instead, he has just made two Championship appearances for Bristol City.

Following Tammy Abraham's thigh injury which he sustained against Leeds United, Gustav Engvall may have hoped that he would be given an opportunity by Lee Johnson. Instead, Johnson opted to use Aaron Wilbraham and Lee Tomlin as his strikers.

Having not even featured in Bristol City's last ten matchday squad, Engvall's spell in England has been nothing short of disastrous.

Swedish first division side Djurgarden have offered Engvall an escape as they are expected to take Engvall on loan until the end of the season.

In the summer, Gustav Engvall will be one of the most likely players to leave if Bristol City can recoup the large transfer fee that they paid for the Swedish striker.

Ivan Lucic

In the summer, Ivan Lucic joined Bristol City from European giants Bayern Munich, the Austrian goalkeeper had previously plied his trade at SV Ried.

As only a 21-year-old goalkeeper, Ivan Lucic is regarded as a bright future prospect who could become Bristol City's first choice goalkeeper at some point in the future.

However, with Frank Fielding struggling to find a consistency in his performances, Lucic may have hoped that he would be fast-tracked and given the opportunity much sooner.

Although Lucic did make two appearances in the Championship for Bristol City, both of which were in defeats to Preston North End and Brentford, Lucic's opportunities for Bristol City have been extremely limited.

Following the arrival of Schalke goalkeeper Fabian Giefer, Lucic fell even further down the pecking order and Lee Johnson allowed the 21-year-old goalkeeper to joined Danish Superliga side Aalborg on loan for the remainder of the season.

Even though Bristol City rate Lucic highly, Ivan Lucic could one of the most likely players to quit Bristol City in the summer, if a club can guarantee him regular first team football.
