Brighton & Hove Albion have had a great start to the season, rising to 2nd in the table and becoming strong promotion contenders.

Chris Hughton's men have the least amount of defeats in the Championship, having been defeated just twice in the 2016/17 season, picking up 14 victories, and the Seagulls have won their last 4 matches in a row.

Last season, Brighton came so close to winning promotion. Hughton's side couldn't beat Middlesbrough on the final day as they missed out on automatic promotion, before being defeated by Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi finals.

The January transfer window is the final opportunity to strengthen your squad ahead of the business end of the campaign, and to avoid a heartbreaking end to the season like last year Chris Hughton will want to potentially add a few more players to his Seagulls team, which could mean other players will be going the other way

FootballLeagueWorld writer Rob Booth identifies TWO players Brighton fans could be saying goodbye to...

Elvis Manu

Elvis Manu joined Brighton from Dutch side Feyenoord in the summer of 2015, but has only made 16 first team appearances since his arrival at the AMEX Stadium.

The winger has played 5 games for Brighton this season, as well as appearing 3 times for the Under 23s side in the EFL Trophy, and Manu has scored 3 goals, 2 of which came in the League Cup.

It was reported earlier in the year that the Dutchman was seeking a move away from Brighton, so in January his wish could be granted as he appears surplus to requirements on the south coast.

Uwe Huenemeier

Uwe Huenemeier, like Manu, joined Brighton in the summer of 2015. The defender arrived from German side SC Paderborn but has fallen out of favour at the AMEX.

Huenemeier has not made a league appearance for Brighton in over a year, with his last Championship outing being a 3-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough which ended the Seagulls' unbeaten start to the 2015/16 season.

In 2016/17, the 30-year-old has made just 2 outings for the Brighton first team, both in the EFL Cup, he's also appeared in the EFL Trophy for the Under 23s team on 3 occasions.

As the centre-back closes in on the end of his career, he'll want to play as many games as possible and it seems as if Brighton is not the place to do so, therefore he could benefit from a move away from the south coast club.
