With the new season fast approaching, Bolton Wanderers still have plenty of work to do in the transfer window.

Bolton have already made a handful of signings during the summer window, bringing in Clayton Donaldson, Erhun Oztumer, Jason Lower and Pawel Olkowski on free transfers.

A number of players were released at the end of last season and Bolton’s squad is looking thin at the moment so Phil Parkinson still needs to be looking at new players.

Finances are a problem with the Trotters, meaning that Parkinson will be scouring the markets for loan spells and more free transfers available at the moment.

Here are three transfer targets who Bolton should be looking to secure before the end of this month to strengthen their squad ahead of the Championship campaign.

Bolton need a new goalkeeper this summer after losing Mark Howard and Ben Amos so a move for Kuszczak would be a wise short-term option.

The 36-year-old would provide good competition for Ben Alnwick next season and he is likely to leave Birmingham City for cheap if a club comes in with a decent offer.

Bolton should secure a return for Chung-yong, who previously starred in a six-year stay at the club between 2009 and 2015.

The 30-year-old South Korea international was recently released by Crystal Palace and he would be the perfect creative player for the Trotters.

Bolton should definitely go ahead and try to finalise a loan deal for de Tomas.

The 23-year-old Spaniard is not getting game time at Real Madrid but he could be a revelation in the second tier of English football.
