It’s been a difficult start to the summer for Aston Villa, who are preparing for their third consecutive season of Sky Bet Championship football under Steve Bruce.

Bruce had his side well in promotion contention last season, with Villa missing out on a Premier League return by the narrowest of margins.

The club’s manager has already admitted this summer that player sales are to be expected, with the likes of Jack Grealish, James Chester and Jonathan Kodjia all potentially on their way out of Villa Park.

Until funds are raised, Villa’s dealings in the transfer window will be limited, with it common knowledge that Bruce doesn’t have a huge budget to work with this summer.

With that in mind, we take a look at some of the deals Villa could be working on. Identifying THREE that we believe need to be completed by the end of this month…

Some experience is going to have to be brought in to replace John Terry.

Huth could be perfect and is a free agent this summer.

The towering centre-back would be a shrewd addition if Villa can agree a wage package.

Norris is on the fringe at Wolves and Villa could offer the goalkeeper some much-needed first-team football next season.

Bruce hasn’t been afraid to bring goalkeepers in on-loan before, and that could be the route he takes again this summer, as he looks to replace Sam Johnstone.

Tuanzebe had a spell at Villa Park on-loan last season, but injuries prevented him from making a major impact.

Bruce wants to bring the Man United youngster back on board next season, but so far, a deal doesn’t seem to be materialising.

Villa need to move before a rival does.
