Millwall are enjoying an incredible season and they could well be a Premier League team next year.

After winning promotion via the League One play-offs last term, many tipped the Lions to be relegated this season.

And after a difficult start to life back in the second tier and pressure building on Neil Harris, it looked like it could be a long, tough season of fighting for survival ahead.

But a stunning run of form in the second half of the season has seen Millwall defy all expectations and make a late surge for the play-off spots, where they will be hoping that their experience of League One play-offs will stand them in good stead when it comes down to it.

All of Millwall's focus will be on maintaining their form now and finishing in a top six spot but before long, they will have to start thinking about summer transfer business.

Here are three players that Millwall should make early enquiries about.

Ben Marshall joined Millwall on loan from Wolves in January and he has been exceptionally good.

The versatile midfielder, who can also play in defence, has contributed with three goals and five assists in 13 games for the South London club.

If Millwall can snap the experienced 27-year-old up on a permanent deal, then that would be fantastic business from Neil Harris.

All of Millwall's forwards have contributed with a handful of goals but they could do with one out and out goal scorer to either fire them to promotion next season or keep them in the Premier League.

Peterborough star Jack Marriott is a man who knows where the net is and a number of clubs will be interested in his services this summer.

The 23-year-old has a remarkable 31 goals to his name this season and he would be the ideal finisher to push Millwall to the next level.

Marriott's Peterborough team mate Marcus Maddison would also be a perfect signing for the Lions.

With 21 assists and 10 goals to his name this season, the 24-year-old has just added to his burgeoning reputation and he will not be a League One player for much longer.

Millwall could do with his creative spark in the attacking midfield regions and the likes of Steve Morison and Lee Gregory would thrive from his service.
