Swansea City have completed the signing of free agent Jake Bidwell on a three-year deal, the club has confirmed.

The 26-year-old becomes Swansea's first signing of the transfer window following his release from QPR, after his contract expired earlier this summer.

Bidwell was QPR's first-choice left-back during his three years at the club, and he made 45 appearances for the Rs last term as they avoided relegation from the Championship.

The Everton academy product arrives at the Liberty Stadium following Championship spells with Brentford and QPR, meaning he adds plenty of second-tier experience to Steve Cooper's youthful side.

The club confirmed that Bidwell will now link up with his new teammates on Wednesday during their pre-season tour of Spain.

Swansea confirmed the signing via their Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon:

Plenty of Swans fans responded to the announcement with much positivity, as plenty of them praised the club for getting transfer business done early in the window.
