After parting ways with Darren Moore in March, West Bromwich Albion narrowly missed out on promotion under the guidance of caretaker boss Jimmy Shan last season as they were eliminated from the play-offs by Aston Villa.

In need of a new manager, the Baggies opted to wait until June to hand over the reins to Slaven Bilic.

Having previously achieved success with West Ham United as well as Croatia's national side, the 51-year-old's appointment was unsurprisingly greeted in a positive manner by plenty of West Brom fans on Twitter.

Here were some of the best responses from the club's supporters...

Since taking over at West Brom, Bilic has helped the club achieve a fantastic start to the 2019/20 campaign in the Championship.

After securing a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest in his first game in charge of the Baggies, the Croatian led the club on a eight-game unbeaten run in the second-tier.

As well producing impressive displays against the likes of Queens Park Rangers and Huddersfield Town, West Brom also illustrated a tremendous of character to fight back in their clashes with Blackburn Rovers and Fulham.

Although Bilic was unable to prevent the Baggies from suffering their first league defeat of the season at the hands of Leeds United, his players produced the perfect response to this setback by beating Cardiff City earlier this month.

When you consider that West Brom are currently top of the Championship standings, the decision to appoint the former West Ham boss has proven to be an inspired call by the club's hierarchy.

Providing that the Baggies can maintain their consistency in the second-tier, there is no reason why they cannot secure promotion to the Premier League next May.
