Portsmouth players, management and fans alike will be rightfully ecstatic this morning following last night's dramatic win over Exeter City in the EFL Trophy semi-finals.

Exeter captain Jake Taylor hammered in from a corner with just over 10 minutes to go before Marcus Harness fired in a rebound from close-range to equalise just six minutes later.

The Grecians looked to have won the game in the 89th minute when Christian Burgess diverted a Joel Randall cross into his own net but a deflected Cameron McGeehan strike from the edge of the area pulled Portsmouth level again.

The hosts took the lead for the first time with the final action of the match when John Marquis headed in at the back post from a Ronan Curtis cross to send Fratton Park into ecstasy.

Marquis' goal sends Portsmouth to Wembley for a second consecutive season as they look to retain their trophy.
