Sunderland have announced that Nike will be their kit supplier for the 2020/21 season, which will bring an end to their deal with adidas.

The club's owner Stewart Donald issued his excitement over the agreement with Nike in an interview with Sunderland's official website.

"This is an incredibly exciting deal for the club, and I’m delighted to welcome Nike back to the SAFC family. Our colours and kit are steeped in proud tradition, and we look forward to showing supporters our bespoke designs ahead of the 2020-21 season."

Sunderland could well be playing their football in the Championship next season, with Phil Parkinson's side sat fourth and just three points adrift of league-leaders Rotherham United in the League One table.

After tough recent seasons which saw the Black Cats fall from the Premier League to the third-tier of English football, supporters are finally seeing promising signs both on and off the pitch which will be pleasing to see.

Plenty of Sunderland fans were pleased with this off-the-field agreement, and took to social media to issue their thoughts on it.
