A lack of goalscorer was a massive problem for a lot of clubs in the Championship last season.

It was a problem that almost cost Bolton Wanderers seriously.

With only 13 goals scored between Sammy Ameobi, Aaron Wilbraham and Adam Le Fondre it was a factor that almost cost Wanderers dearly.

The Lancashire club survived the drop by one point on the last day of the season at the expense of Barnsley, who still scored more than Bolton.

So it is clear that a new striker should be right at the top of Phil Parkinson's wish list this summer. If they do not bring one in, then relegation seems inevitable.

The solution

Mo Eisa has had an outstanding season with Cheltenham Town in League Two.

The 23-year-old scored 23 goals, which is impressive enough, but doing it for a team that finished 17th in the league makes it that extra bit more special an achievement.

Why him?

Eisa is a perfect all-round striker who would fit into most teams in the Football League.

Quick, strong, a threat in the air and adept with both feet, it isn't hard to see why there's been so much buzz around the Sudanese born striker.

Most importantly he is a player who would vastly improve this Bolton Wanderers side and offer them a ruthlessness that they do not currently have.

The stumbling block

Bolton are not the richest team in the Championship.

Far from it in fact. With Cheltenham already rejecting bids in the range of seven figures it could prove tricky for Wanderers to find the money for him, and it could be seen as too big a risk for a League Two player.

But if Bolton Wanderers and Phil Parkinson are serious about avoiding the drop next season they will be on the phone to Cheltenham to start negotiations.
