Leeds United centre-back Ben White has been presented with his PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Championship Player of the month for August, which has drawn praise from many fans of the club.

White was one of six players nominated for the award but eased to victory, receiving 44% of the overall fan vote.

The defender joined Leeds on loan from Brighton in the summer and has been fantastic for the Whites so far.

The 21-year-old has featured in every single game this season and helped Leeds climb to first in the Championship, whilst conceding the fewest goals in the division–just four in eight games.

So far, White has done an excellent job of replacing Pontus Jansson, who left to join Brentford in the summer.

The defender was presented with the award at Thorp Arch and sent a message of thanks to the fans.

Speaking to the club website, he said: “It's really nice to get an award like this and I'm thankful to the people who voted for me.”

Unsurprisingly, White has become a popular figure at Elland Road already and there was evidence of that in the reaction of many fans to the presentation of his award.
