Bury have confirmed the permanent signing of former loanee Chris Hussey on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old featured for The Shakers in an 11-game spell at the end of the regular League Two campaign, but was recalled to parent club Burton Albion in time for their play-off campaign and played in the post-season final defeat to Fleetwood Town at Wembley on Monday.

It was announced only yesterday that the full-back had penned a one-year contract with The Brewers which, as reported by the BBC, had been triggered by an appearance clause, but that has now been cancelled by both parties to enable Hussey’s move to Gigg Lane.

Hussey, who can play at left-midfield as well as left-back, counts AFC Wimbledon and Coventry City among his former clubs and will officially become a Bury player on July 1.

His addition is the fourth so far to David Flitcroft’s 2014-15 squad, with Danny Mayor plus returning duo Nicky Adams and Ryan Lowe also joining the Lancashire side this summer.
